Vision & Values

Loving God. Loving People.

We are a gospel-centered church that exists for the glory of God and the good of the city and world. The gospel is our primary motivation in church planting and will continually shape everything that we do.

We believe “the gospel changes everything”
by saving, sanctifying, and sending authentic disciples into the city and world. A natural by-product of saturating our city with the gospel is that we will see a multiplying community of disciples who love God and love people and grow in the city and around the world.

Our desire is to be agents used in restoring others to God (salvation), to grow them deeper into the gospel in pursuit of a life like Christ (sanctification), and to equip and mobilize them to serve the city and the world (send). We believe the gospel energizes us to fulfill this vision.

Why Wake Forest?

NEED: Wake Forest is a suburb of Raleigh. Raleigh is the fastest growing metropolitan area in the nation. There are currently 1.6 million people that call the “Triangle” home. Wake Forest is the fastest growing part of the fastest growing city in the nation. As Wake Forest and Raleigh continue to multiply so will their need of gospel-centered churches. We believe that God will not only allow us to plant one church in the city, but multiple churches in the city and around the world.

INFLUENCE: Wake Forest represents a unique diversity of tradition and innovation. It is home to many of those who commute back and forth to North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park, one of the country’s largest and most successful research parks and a major center in the U.S. Many are continuing to move to Wake Forest because of the short commute to Raleigh, its safe and friendly neighborhoods, affordable housing, and its family oriented atmosphere. The culture of Wake Forest is changing daily. Therefore, we desire to plant a church that is centered on the unchanging gospel in the middle of this ever-changing context.

Our Values

The Gospel

The gospel changes everything. The gospel saves, sanctifies, and sends. It is the fuel that energizes everything that we do.

Making Disciples

The gospel makes disciple-making disciples.

The City

We want to be a blessing to our city. As a church in the city of Raleigh we will feel what the citizens of Raleigh feel, hurt when they hurt, and celebrate when they celebrate. We desire to be a church that brings our city hope and joy

Worship

The gospel gathers disciples together to worship God corporately.

Mission

The gospel liberates you into a life on mission. Every disciple is a missionary.

Community

A gospel-centered life happens within community.

Generosity

The gospel reveals to us that we are the recipients of much generosity. The gospel also urges us (the church), as recipients of the gospel, to generously give our time, our talents, our financial resources, and ourselves to be a blessing to our city and world.

Our beliefs are summarized in our mission statement:

“Loving God, Loving People, Loving Our City and World.”

Loving God

We believe that God is the Creator of all that exists, and that He Himself has existed eternally in three Persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Deut 6:4Isaiah 64:8Matt 3:16-1728:19John 16:7-15Heb 1:2-3

We believe that God created us to worship Him and give Him glory.
Isaiah 43:721Psalms 96:9Matt 4:10

We believe that sin has kept us from knowing God and worshipping Him, but that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, was physically resurrected, and now offers a restored relationship with God to all who belive in Him.
John 3:16Acts 2:22-39Rom 3:21-24

We believe that salvation is a free gift given at God’s initiative, and must be received personally by faith.
John 5:24Rom 10:9-10Eph 2:8-9

We believe the Bible to be God’s Word, a true and fully accurate account of God’s love for us.  Its purpose is to teach us how to have a relationship with Him, worship Him and bring Him glory.
Psalms 19:7-102 Tim 3:15-172 Peter 1:19-21

Loving People

We believe that Jesus established His Body on earth in the Church and that the church is a community that exists for the purpose of declaring the Gospel and glory of Jesus throughout the world.
1 Cor 12:12-31Col 1:18-201 Peter 2:9

We believe the church is a family and that every believer should be identified with a local body of believers for the purpose of mutual encouragement, spiritual growth and accountability.
Eph 4:11-16Col 3:12-27Heb 10:24-25

Loving Our City and World

We believe that God cares about every need of every person and that the Church, as Christ’s Body, is to show His love and care for every person.  Every member of the church is called to be a minister of the gospel through both acts of loving service and through a willingness to share the truth of the gospel with everyone at every opportunity.
John 13:34-351 Peter 3:151 Peter 4:8

We believe that the scope of God’s love is worldwide and this Church is committed to taking the gospel to the farthest and most unreached places of the world.
Isaiah 49:6Matt 28:18-20Rom 10:13-151 Tim 2:3-4
