For The City: 2016 Recap

For The City: 2016 Recap

Wow! For The City (FTC)was a tremendous success! We had over 75 people in five different locations over five days demonstrating the love of Jesus to the city of Wake Forest. This is tremendous news and something we celebrate together as believers!

for the city

Jesus prayed in Matthew 6:10, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”. Our contribution to the expansion of the kingdom of God is found in making Wake Forest look more like heaven. Restoration Church, thank you for taking the mission of loving God and loving people so seriously. Thank you for being a blessing to the Town of Wake Forest and loving its people loudly.

This summer we were able to use a portion of your GeneroCity funds to be a blessing to the city of Wake Forest. Your generous giving is what allows us to bless this city in a remarkable way. With that said, we simply could not do this without you. One of the values we have as a church is to live and give with great generosity. Because you have embraced this vision in your own individual lives, our church shines brightly as a light in Wake Forest.

But, wait there is more! We were able to impact hundreds of lives as we went and served! We hosted a block party for the Austin Creek neighborhood, performed a thorough cleaning for the teachers at Heritage Middle School, worked hard by serving Wake Forest High School, cleaned and provided a meal for the firefighters at Wake Forest Fire Station #1, and loved on the staff of YMCA summer camps.

An additional goal for us this year was to empower our Small Groups to take more ownership in these service projects. Each small group did a wonderful job planning, organizing, and executing their specific project for God’s glory!

Don’t just take my word for it, here are a few of the things we have heard from For The City Summer 2016:

“FTC was a huge blessing to me because I was able to develop relationships with people in the church. I found my niche through FTC.”

“I was able to meet so many of my neighbors through FTC. It provided an excuse for me to reach out to them and be a blessing. I look forward to continuing what has been started.”

“I was able to share the gospel. That was a huge blessing to me.”

“It was great to see our church come together to tackle our mission of loving God and loving people.”

These are all just a few examples of how we seek to show the love of Christ to our community! Thank you to everyone for their support, their service, and their hearts for this great community!
